"We had a large group from around Michigan. The Farmhouse is so beautiful. It is the prefect mixture of antique house with modern amenities. The communication with the owner was superb and we loved the extra touch of the extra blankets on our beds (it was a cold weekend but warm house), the marshmallows, the water in the fridge, and so much more. Thank you for a great stay!"

"Beautiful property and true farmhouse experience. When the weather cooperated, the stars were amazing! Very close to L'Anse (great breakfasts!) and Houghton/Michigan Tech.

"The manager was pleasant to work with…the towels were soft and kitchen had all amenities. The mowed paths through the pasture were a nice surprise.

"I (46) took my son (12) on his first snowmobile trip that turned into an adventure. Keith (owner) was fantastic, and I am definitely not accustomed to someone calling just to check on my well-being (he did). The Farmhouse brought back many memories and has just the right amount of necessary updates. Thanks again!" Gary

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse. The owner was great with communication and the property was lovely. Our family of 9 plus dogs was very happy with our accommodations. The home does have a few quirks (low water pressure in one of the bathrooms, weird light switches, and dull knives) however the furniture is comfy, the location is optimal, and there is plenty of space. We are considering a second visit!"

"The farmhouse is a great location for snowmobiling in this area. We had easy access to the trails north southeast and west. Eight men slept comfortably. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was a great place to hang out."

"There was a group of us up there for our annual snowmobiling trip. From our first communication to our last Keith was absolutely amazing to work with. He was quick to respond to our questions - and we had a lot - Keith was always polite and professional towards us. We use VRBO at least twice a year, Keith has been the best to work with so far.   Keith gave us directions to the snowmobile trails - you will have to do some ditch hopping to get there.   The house is bigger on the inside than it looks. It is a little outdated, but it also helps keep the charm of the house. We loved the cozy feeling of the older farmhouse with the long table for everyone to eat together. The mud room was great we could all sit in there and take out gear off and not have to track it through the house.   There was plenty of bedrooms for everyone and the beds are very comfy.  The king bed feels like a cloud. Everyone agreed the beds are some of the better ones we have slept in at a VRBO.   The property was fun to ride our sleds around. There was plenty of parking for our trucks and trailers and our sleds to sit out. There isn’t anyone close to the property, so it was peaceful."

"We stayed here two nights group of 10 adults and 2 pre-teenage boys. Everyone had a place to sleep. Place is clean and has everything you need. Could use a little bit of upgrading but has all the necessities.

"The farmhouse is a very nice place to stay. It is cozy, in a remote setting, and only minutes from town. The house is clean, charming and has modern amenities. Keith was very friendly upon our arrival and shared the house’s history with us. The field behind the house was a fun place to play with the snowmobiles, especially after a fresh foot of snow! We had a great time and would highly recommend it to everyone!  Thank you Keith!"

"Much nicer/cooler than I expected.  Impeccably well-appointed with everything you could need.  Yes, it is an old farmhouse - with some of the quirks you would expect - but the furnishings and touches are superb.  Big enough for large groups and more land than you can comprehend.  Bring your family and your toys...
Keith was responsive, and the house was very clean.
It also had some surprising modern touches.  Close to the Casino, Sturgeon River and Baraga marina.
Will definitely consider for a future trip."

"Our family reunion couldn’t have been in a more private spot.  We all felt at home, relaxed and low key.  We brought a lot of outdoor activities that we enjoyed when we’re there.  Just prepare for the flying guests that were apparently bad this year due to such a mild winter.  Bring bug spray, use the provided citronella candles and we were glad we brought our big, screened gazebo.
Check in and out was easy.  We just slipped out in the middle of the night without disturbing anyone.  
One of the nearby caretakers left her phone number in case we needed anything, including fresh eggs that she hand delivered.
Thank you for such a lovely vacation destination."

"Our work group of 6 was in a pinch when all the nearby hotels were booked.  Members of our group were pleasantly surprised that the Farmhouse worked out well.  It is a nice setting in the country away from the noise and lights of an urban area.  The house has a lot of character.

"Fantastic property with excellent lighting, location, and accessibility to the Lake Superior.  Enough space for everyone in our group.  The game is quiet, calm and peaceful. Lots of wildlife, birds and insects.  I can’t wait to come back."

"My family and I traveled to the farmhouse for the Fourth of July weekend and to say we had a blast would be an understatement. I will say that this is a farmhouse, and it was the dead of summer, so if you're not comfortable without A/C then this might not be a spot for you. However, we were content with the fans provided in each room. The property was vast and impossible to fully explore in the short time we stayed. Keith was a great host and prompt with communication; he was flexible with our check-in/check-out times for which we were extremely grateful. We look forward to returning in the winter for a chance to experience and see more!

"This place is so beautiful!  Secluded but very easy to get to, the house is surrounded by an absolutely beautiful landscape: meadows with mowed walking paths, the pond, fruit trees, surrounded by beautiful woods!   Horseshoes, games for the kids, fire pit, swing by the pond, plenty of comfortable lawn chairs; very nice outdoor spaces!
The interior is super clean and very, very roomy.  The layout of the house is very nice, the place is very sturdy, well crafted, clean, nice floors, nice dining room, very comfortable living room furniture, great bedrooms with antique furniture situated nicely throughout the house; and incredible screened porch, very spacious bathroom upstairs, and a second full bath downstairs: a well-maintained old farmhouse that was easy to relax in and felt like home!  It is the favorite spot our family stayed during our Superior south shore road trip, and while we spent a little bit of a day exploring the surrounding little towns, which are super friendly, everyone was happy to just hang out at the farmhouse most of the days and just relax.  It is well set up for just that, for sure, and we regretted having to move on when our stay ended, that’s for sure!

"Awesome place! Lots of room to have alone time if necessary. Comfortably sleeps 12 and has plenty of seating for all! The property itself is HUGE and we all went for a walk at least once a day but couldn’t explore all of it! Keith is fast to respond, kind, and honest. Plenty of amenities and tips on places to go nearby! I will definitely stay here again!!!

"Nice place for big groups!
This farmhouse is not stylish, but it is super homey—and I love that, especially in cold seasons. Makes you feel cozy. The house is old, but it is clean, and it doesn’t smell. Except for some flies attracted by the heater, everything was fairly satisfying.
We’re a group of 9 and we all like it."

"The farmhouse is in a great location! Very secluded and great for large family gatherings. We enjoyed bonfires, grilling, and the star-filled sky was amazing! There was a lot of mosquitoes, but it is the country so come prepared!! We brought lots of board games, rented ATVs, hiked, and went kayaking. Great trip!"

"We met my sister's family at Keith's farmhouse in Baraga over New Years.  There was plenty of room for all eight of us. The dining room table was our favorite gathering place for meals and games. The home was cozy, property was beautiful, and we enjoyed long walks, stargazing, gathering eggs and views to the pond. While in town we rented snowmobiles in Houghton for a day excursion, went skiing in Marquette, bowled at the Whir-L-Gig in L'Anse. All easy and fun outings from Baraga."

We had an amazing stay at The Farmhouse!  It was very spacious.  The location is private, and the grounds are amazing.  There is a hen house on the property and we collected eggs at the invitation of the host for our breakfast.  We had a great bonfire on our last night at the fire ring down by the pond.  We took walks and explored the property, including seeing deer and enjoying the fall colors.  Would definitely stay here again!

"This is an amazing accommodation for a large family.  We had a family of 14 and an infant.  Each bedroom is a museum of its own with beautiful antique furniture, books, decor.  Kitchen and dining room held all of us.  The land was perfect with large yard and so far from the road — no worry with little kids."

"The farmhouse experience was delightful! The farmhouse was roomy for all 12 of us with comfortable beds, luxurious bedding and towels, comfy furniture, plenty room for all of us to eat and TV (which wasn’t really needed!). We loved the screened in porch looking out to the woods and pond. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could possibly need during our stay. The kids loved exploring the outdoors with the chickens, rowing and fishing on the pond, s’mores at the fire pit and just listening to the quiet serenity as the sun set at night.  Keith was a wonderful host who was immediately available for anything we needed.  Many special touches throughout the farmhouse such as candy for the kids, soaps, coffee and tea, firewood available for purchase, and beautiful antiques to enjoy and admire. A very lovely experience for all of us!"
